Another Year Over

How time flies. Christmas crept up so fast I hardly felt the Christmas Spirit. And now the New Year is just around the corner. I guess I'm just homesick. It's been a few years since I've been back home to visit the family. I usually try and make it there for the Christmas Holidays. Now Christmas back home is different. Being able to experience this event in different places makes you appreciate what you've left back home even more. But since I've taken on this so-called adventure of mine that started about 12 years ago, I've learned to adjust to the changes and have been able to cope with them. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy every minute of it. I've learned so many things being away from home. And I don't regret any of it. Except maybe about something I've done a couple of years ago (that's a whole different story that I choose to remain forgotten). But other than that, I've been happy.

And so, another year has gone and a new one is about to start. I can think of goals, wishes, or even things to do lists. But that's just secondary. My main goal is to make it home for next year's Christmas Holidays :)

Have a Safe and Happy New Year!

Back to Work! Ugh!

Sigh! After a nice 4 day weekend..(i was off Saturday thru Tuesday), it was back to work.. bummer! Sometimes you wish you can just stay home.. Only good part about today was it wasn't as busy as I expected it to be so it wasn't so bad. Course, I was thinking of a special someone.. now that got me through the day.. :)

I really shouldn't complain coz this is a short work week.. On Friday, we get off at 2pm. Then the weekend.. woohoo..I get Monday off so I get a 3 day weekend. So it's like an extended holiday vacation.

Well that's it for the day. I'm off to work on a website for a video outfit, then watch some tv, and last but not least, get nice and comfy and think of my sweetie.

Day after Christmas

It's the day after christmas and i slept most of the day.. guess all the preparations and shopping for the holidays just wore me out. Didn't wake up til 10am.. got online and hosted my 3pm tournament..logged off.. surfed the net for a bit and at around 4pm, i started flipping channels while getting comfortable in bed and took a long nap. Talk about a real lazy day after Christmas. I don't care. I'm enjoying the "vacation" so to speak. I don't get back to work til Wednesday.
That's it. Think I should mosey back on to bed, put a movie in and relax some more.

Pasko sa Pinas!

Mano Po Ninong, Mano Po Ninang!!!

Pasko sa Pilipinas ay ibang iba..Simbang Gabi..putobongbong..bibingka..mga ilaw na kumukutitap kahit saan ka tumingin. Ibang iba and Pasko sa atin.

Backgammon Anyone???

I remember someone ask me one time -- What is Backgammon? How do you play that game?? -- So I explain the game as best I can. You think they get the idea?? Noooooooo.. So, I suggest they watch how the game is played. Some get really curious when I tell them that. The Origins of Backgammon can be traced back thousands of years. It was typically played on surfaces such as wood, using stones as markers, and dice made from bones, stones, wood or pottery. The game was played by the Egyptians, Sumerians, Romans and Persians. THAT's when they get serious and start learning the game.
I started playing when I was about 15 years old..boy, that's some time ago..lol..but I remember playing the game on a board with felt lining..leather for the points and a leather cup to shake the dice. On long car trips, the magnetic ones work best by the way. But those were the days. Who would have thought that the game would be played worldwide on the internet. Gaming Sites have sprouted all over the internet offering Backgammon as one of the board games.About 3 years ago, while surfing the internet, I came across a gamesite. It hosted boardgames as well as shooter games and the like. And so, on a weekend with nothing to do, I started playing backgammon online. I've met so many people since then and to date, they've remained friends. Now, I currently play over at
livVe where i've met even more people who have been good friends over the months or year.
Backgammon is a fun game. Once you know how the game is played then strategy takes place. Watching players in a game helps if you're fairly new to backgammon. If you'd like to learn how to play the game, here are the
Rules of Backgammon I found to be the simplest way to explain the game.
I still prefer to play the game with the actual board. It's still more fun that way. But on nights when insomnia hits me bad, you can't find anyone to play backgammon at say, 3am?? I don't think waking someone up just to help me get my gammon fix is a good idea... so my other alternative is to find a game online.

Who is BulletCatcher?

My name's Carissa but only my family and close friends call me that. Since I started playing backgammon and a few other games online, the sites would have you create a screen name. I got stumped, thinking, what name should i use? I used what a site called a Naminator and I came across the name "bulletcatcher". I thought it would be interesting to see how people would react to the name so I used it. Since then, I get comments like.. i thought you were a guy.. or .. why "bulletcatcher"? I'll let you in on a secret.. I myself have no clue why i chose the name but since I've used it, I've had a few nicknames derived from the name... Bullet, BC, and my favorite one?? Bully. (don't ask why..lol).

My Dear OopsieDaisy

Laura, well it didn't take you long to convince me on becoming a "blogger" .. lol.. luv ya!
